Madalyn's Summer Lookbook

I did a lookbook for Madalyn back in the beginning of spring, and it's actually gotten a lot of view. What can I say, my two (almost three) year old dresses better than I do! But that's what us mommies take pride in right? So I figured, why not do another one? And show off some of her summer outfits. :)

This is Madalyn's "Beach Babe" outfit, as I like to call it.
What she's wearing:
Shirt: Boys department in Target
Shorts: Oldnavy
Flipflops: Roxy

What she's wearing:
Dress: Thrifted
Boots: Thrifted

What she's wearing:
Dress: Maxi dress from Target
Belt: American Eagle

What she's wearing:
Shirt: Target
Shorts: Target
Headband: Target

What she's wearing:
Shirt: Boys department in Target
Pants: Leggings from H&M Kids
Shoes: Yellow Hunter boots

What she's wearing:

I love getting complimented on how adore Madalyn is dressed all the time. Once you have a baby it becomes less about you and more about your child, and I love getting compliments about her. It's a very prideful feeling. Which outfit did you like best?!

Hair-istory

After High School Graduation '09 --Natural hair highlights

I saw this post by Scribbles of Valerie and I was inspired to do my very own post of my hair history! And this is going to be adventurous for me, considering I change my hair all zee time. But I figured I'd give it a shot! And also try to spread it out a little bit.

Three Months after Madalyn was born- October 2010
After Madalyn was born, I cut my hair to a medium length and died it darker, just because it was Fall. I tend to do that…a lot. I have naturally dark eyebrows {darker than my natural hair color} so the dark hair colors often looks good on me.

Winter of 2011
After Madalyn got a little bit bigger, I let my hair grow out. I found this was easier since she wasn't constantly pulling on it. I love my long locks. I just prefer long hair to short. And this was when I was sporting messing bangs. What can I say, Lea Michele's look from Glee got to me. It still looks cute!

Summer of 2012
First time I ombre'd my hair. I actually have a DIY post here. I did like it, but eventually I got a little tired of how it just went from brown to blonde and didn't have a lot of fade to it. So I dyed my hair to a red-ish color.

Fall of 2012
Then after the red set it, I thought it would be a great idea to ombre it again. And after I did, I completely fell in love with it!!

Winter 2012

Then after the blonde tips started to dry my hair out really bad, I cut off the dead ends and stayed a short reddish color for a little bit before completely doing something new. One day I went to the hair salon and decided to get a lot of blonde highlights in my hair.

Summer 2013
I have a lot of low lights and highlights and I'm a lot more "blonde" than I've ever been before. Plus my hair naturally lightens in the sun, so it just keeps getting lighter and lighter. I have got to say, I love being blondish, haha.

How much has your hair changed in the past couple years?! I'm anxious to know!

Whimsical

What's a better way to start the Summer off then being hired to do a Vintage/Retro Maternity Shoot. This couple was beyond lovely and their personalities shone right through the camera lens! This is what photography is all about. Capturing the nature of the person and putting it into a product that they will cherish forever. They even brought the most whimsical props! The car, the parasol, the baby booties and shoes, and the cute overalls. Everything about this shoot was perfect.

I love that in-between my card business, I can make people happy with an affordable and quality photography package. It's the little things that make me happy as a person and a business owner. I never understood why photographers charged 300+ for 20 pictures and an hour of their time. I spent almost two hours with this couple, gave them more than 20 pictures for 60 bucks. With todays economy people don't have 300 dollars to be blowing on pictures that come out mediocre anyway. I'm glad I can provide my services while I'm still growing as a photographer at a great rate.

What little things do you pride yourself in?

Coconut Passion.

Today I'm going to share with you guys a realization of mine. I am completely obsessed with coconut. Besides that glorious smell that is definitely the main smell of summer, it is also very healthy for you. Who doesn't love the smell of your tanning oil or sunscreen in the summer time?! That rich aroma of coconut just relaxes me instantly.

Not only that but I've realized a good amount of my beauty products are also coconut. Even though they're both almost empty my Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk shampoo and conditioner are my one of my go-to's. The coconut milk nourishes your hair while the egg white proteins strengthen your hair and coconut oil hydrates it.

I bought a tub of Coconut oil and I keep finding uses for it!! First I put it in my hair as a conditioner, left it in for an hour, then washed it out. It helps hydrates your hair but also helps it grow faster. Then I applied a little bit to my skin as a moisturizer. It left my skin so smooth! It was definitely better than an expensive lotion. Not only does it work with beauty, it benefits your health! I've been putting coconut oil in place of butter and other oils in my cooking for a healthier meal. Also, you can do a straight coconut oil detox to get toxins out of your body. Is there nothing coconut oil can't do?!

And finally my coconut passion line from  Victoria Secret. I have the body wash, the perfume and the body spray, all in which I love! The smell just leaves you feeling clean and tropical and a bit sexy (if I do say so myself).

So If you haven't jumped on the coconut craze, I definitely suggest it for this summer!! Tropical is in, baby.

My New and Easy Nighttime Skincare Routine!

Morning Dolls!!

So yesterday I kinda went on a (HUGE) shopping spree at Marshalls. For those who don't know what Marshalls is, it's a store that has designer things on sale. They're mostly products from a previous season, and they sell it at a discount price. And I'm all about savings!!

Besides the huge amount of clothes that I ended up buying (I might make a post about that later.) I also bought some beauty products. They actually had a huge section, which was surprising. Among the beauty products, I singled out some skincare products.

For a beauty blogger, I'm pretty terrible at keeping up with a skincare routine. But after I found out how amazing these products were, I'm definitely going to make time for it!!

So I purchased these three things. The first thing is the Elizabeth Arden Refining Toner Lotion (left). This stuff is amazing! You simply put it on a cotton swab and sweep it across your skin to get ride of lingering traces of any cleansers and make up. The second thing is Elizabeth Arden Clear the Way Mask (center). You just apply this mask to damp skin and gently massage. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse! And finally the H20 Anti-Acne Exfoliating Cleansing Pads (right). Just take out a pad and sweet it over your face and neck. And wah-lah!

After I used all three of these products my face was so smooth! Like smoother than a baby's bottom! And I woke up this morning and it's still just as smooth. Plus the blemish I did have, is fading more than it was so before. So these products are definitely a win-win. Plus I got them all for a huge bargain.

What are your nighttime skin routines?

MaryJane Fashion Wishlist: Spring Edition

BONJOUR DOLLS!

Today I'm going to share with you my wish list from MaryJane Fashion! If you haven't heard of them, they're an extremely cute fashionista site, that sells woman's clothing, men's clothing, cosmetics and accessories. They're based out of the UK (so you're lucky if you live over there!) and they have clothes to support the biggest trends today!

I really like their website because they have an amazing look book and trend page, that helps you piece together any outfit that you'd like to wear. Plus their models and photographs are beautiful and vibrant.

Let's get to the wish list, shall we?

1. Neon Yellow Striped Varsity Jacket- £19.99
2. Camouflage Army Skull Print Vest Tank- £4.99
3. Spike Military Boots- £25.00
4. Coral Fair Isle Island Printed Onesie- £12.99

The varsity jacket style (#1) is a very popular style today. You can easily dress it down with a pair of jeans and flats or you can dress up with a skirt and some heels. The Camo shirt (#2) is just simply amazing. Lately I've been dressing on the edgier side, so I love the skulls mixed in! This would go great with some disco pants or faux leather leggings! But let's take a second to talk about these boots (#3)! They are simply amazing. They have a Doc Martin style to them with some added spikes and studs on the back for some edge. I desperately want these now. And finally we have this adorable and comfortable onesie (#4). I love the bright coral color and the fact that it has a hood! If I had this little baby, I probably would never take it off!

Springing into 2013

Bonjour Dolls!!

It's that time of the year again, S P R I N G ! That means it's time to put away all those heavy sweaters and warm pants, and bring out the florals, skirts and shorts! I don't know about you guys, but I couldn't be more excited. Living in Florida for five years, really makes you get use to warm weather (and appreciate it compared to the cold!)

So instead of the "popular post" about spring florals you should pick up this season, I'm going to talk about two nail colors that I've recently picked up that are MARVELOUS for Spring!

After receiving a sample size of Illamasqua's nail polish in my Glossybox a couple months back, I have been completely in love with their nail polishes. They're soft, clean, and don't chip too fast. These are the two colors that I have been adoring for this season.

The first color (on the left) is called Milf. Which just kinda makes me happy, I don't know why hehe. But it's a very pastel-y greenish teal color that is perfect for the spring time!

The second color is called Gamma. Gamma is a bright orange color that instantly gives your skin a nice looking glow with it's contrast. This bright color is sure to add a nice pop to any outfit!

So if you've been really looking for a new springy color that will just transform your outfits, these are definitely two colors you should pick up!

Have you tried either Milf or Gamma? How did you feel about them? Or what is your go-to spring color?

Pick Me Ups

MORNING DOLLS~

If you're like me, when you see a Sephora or an Ulta, you seem to just sprint right into the doors. And when you do, do you ever get in there and find it hard to find products that are either worth your money or something you don't already have?

Well if you do, here are some great pick me ups that aren't so badly priced!!

First is the Ultimate Dual Exfoliating Face Brush,
The bristles on this brush are soft enough to not irritate your face, but still get all that gunk out of your pores. I think this is a necessity for a bright clean face this year. Especially if you tend to wear a lot of makeup on a day to day basis.

Second, there's the Smashbox Halo Longwear Blush in Peachy Dream,
I think this blush is very unique!! It's a mineral powder blush but instead of the holes being open all the time and creating a huge mess (you know what I'm talking about), you twist the top and it allows some of the powder to come out to put on your cheeks.

And Finally we have the Super Nourishing Lip Balm
This clear lip balm is so soft and smooth on your lips, that you can not go wrong with it!! If you still have slightly chapped or damaged lips from the winter this is a definite pick me up. You can not go wrong with this lip balm.

There you have it!! If you need a little pick me up before Spring, I definitely suggest these products. Not badly priced, and definitely necessities in your beauty collection. Let me know what you think of these products if you've tried them out, or give me your own Spring Pick Me Ups. :D

One of New York's beauty boutiques brings us this perfect color punch of a lip gloss! With a semi-sheer formula that is rich with shine and a soft scent, that is perfect to layer over lipstick.

Glossybox Mag

Besides their products this month, I particularly enjoyed their Magazine. It features a travel guide, international style icons and best celebrity looks featuring top editor picked products. Out of everything though, my favorite part was the exposes they gave on certain cities of the world.

1. ROME
Capital of Italy and one of the Glossybox's headquarters, Rome has magnificent art and architecture. They give the top three Dining places which are Roma Spartia, Ginger, and Pastificio San Lorenzo.

2. PARIS
Considered to be fashion capital of the world, there is no surprise that Glossybox has one of their headquarters here. It's an uber chic city which is every fashionista's dream shopping place. They name three top hotels which are Mama Shelter, Jules Et Jim, and Hotel Amour.

3. MADRID
The busy boulevards of the Spanish capital are filled with jewelers, fashion retailers and boutiques. Not to mention another Glossybox headquarter! The top three art spots to visit in Madrid are Cristobal Balenciaga Museum, Circulo de Bellas Artes, and Museo Del Traje.

As you can see, this month's Glossybox is full of just the right stuff if you dream to travel. Or are interested in the fashion world from other countries.
